Getting there
Air Nearest airport: Bhuntar (50 km/ 2 hrs). Flights can be delayed by bad weather. Taxi charges Rs 700 approx.
Road A long drive from Delhi. The hill drive begins at Kiratpur, but it’s a smooth drive on a largely flat track across the valley. Himachal Tourism’s overnight luxury bus from their Janpath office (dep: 7 pm; arr: Manali, 9.30 am) is another option. In winter the timings can change a bit due to fog conditions.

HPTDC (Himachal Pradesh Tourist Development Corporation) has an office in Delhi at Chanderlok Building, 36 Janpath, the big main road that runs south from Connaught Place. They run a luxury bus service and the price was about 500 R's last year. You can also take an ordinary bus for just over half that price.
If the monsoon suddenly hits the area, which it hasn't as yet, then travel becomes difficult but the HPTDC office will be able to tell you the current situation when you reach Delhi. Booking can usually be done a day in advance. I imagine you will want to have a look around Delhi when you arrive. Unlike others we actually like the place
